Founded by Kirsten Tovey, a Complementary Therapist of almost 25 years, with a passion for natural organic products that work synergistically with the body. After realising the importance of natural nutrition for the wellbeing of individuals Kirsten started to experiment by growing vegetables and herbs at her home in Effingham.
This experimentation led her to the amazing world of Microgreens! Kirsten is now growing Microgreens to provide the local community with fresh, nutritious, wholesome and flavoursome nutrition. They really are a treat for the tastebuds!
What are Microgreens?
Microgreens are the seedlings of edible plants and herbs that are harvested in the early growing stages, usually 8 - 14 days after planting when they are 1 - 3 inches tall.
The benefits of adding Microgreens to your diet:
They are a natural source of chlorophyll and rich in antioxidants, vitamins, enzymes, polyphenols and minerals and are 20-35% protein.
Microgreens are up to 40x more nutrient dense than their fully grown vegetable counterpart - a significant amount!!!
Microgreens have an incredibly high Phytonutrient and Vitamin content and are therefore considered a Superfood.
These natural superfoods are powerful antioxidants, and help to boost the immune system.
They can help reduce the effects of high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, inflammation and certain cancers.
And last but not least, they taste delicious and the perfect addition to any dish!
